Been playing for a while and wondering if you should level up all characters in Honkai Star Rail? Well, you aren’t alone this is a very fair question especially if you are a new player. There are a lot of characters in HSR and when you take their Paths and Combat Types into consideration, things start to complicate. Initially, you might think not every character is worth leveling up and you should focus only on your main team. While that is true for the most part here are the levels you should consider reaching when planning to ascend them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The answer is both Yes and No, as it comes down to how many characters you have<\/strong>. If you want to play Forgotten Hall, you will need 2 teams which comes down to 8 characters. Your main focus here will be two things covering the enemy’s weakness. The biggest reason why you should make your characters reach level 80 is because of the level gap mechanic. Basically, if your character is 10 or even 5 levels lower than the enemy, you will have a disadvantage both when dealing damage and when you are receiving it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As such, you should start by leveling up all your characters to at least level 70<\/strong>. Next, for your supports that have good Traces, you can level them up to level 75<\/strong>. Finally, for your main and sub DPS characters be sure to level them up to level 80<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leveling up and character Ascension comes down to how many materials you have. Collecting them can be especially difficult if you are a free-to-play player. So after you have your main characters completely leveled up rather than leveling every other character that you might own, you should save them for future characters that will be added to the game later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
